Henkel Technomelt®

Henkel Technomelt® & Low Pressure Moulding (thermoplastic overmoulding) enable you to mould in any shape around various products including electronics, cables and PCBs. Established for over 20 years and proving itself across a variety of sectors, Henkel Technomelt® overmoulding materials, used in conjunction with specialist Low Pressure Moulding equipment, offers a superior adhesion sealing for electronics and cables.
Henkel is the world leader in high performance adhesive materials. …. Overmould is the approved UK distributor for LOCTITE® and Henkel TECHNOMELT® where we maintain stock in house. We do also offer other materials such as Epoxy potting, RTV silicone and can order in a diverse range of LOCTITE® and Henkel TECHNOMELT® to accommodate your product requirements.

Eco Credentials of Henkel Technomelt®
Sustainability and environmental issues are extremely important to us and Henkel Technomelt® used in Low Pressure Moulding are comprised of high bio-renewable raw material content (typically 65 – 90%.)

Henkel Technomelt® overmoulding materials can be moulded into any shape or form and allow the creation of aesthetically pleasing designs using one or more colours of Henkel’s materials, different surface textures and the addition of intricate logos, model numbers and serial information.
LOCTITE® and TECHNOMELT® Low Pressure Moulding materials simplify assembly and protect cable designs in a few easy steps, improving reliability, simplifying production and reducing costs.
How To Choose The Correct Overmoulding Materials For Your Application
Technical Details of Henkel Technomelt®

Henkel Technomelt® operating temperature, varies depending on the variant used, but is typically 200-250*C. It is, in essence, a powerful Hot-Melt adhesive that bonds well to a variety of substrates. The grip onto PVC is excellent which makes it ideal for sealing and anchoring cables to connectors whilst simultaneously IP sealing the assembly to high levels. In addition, Henkel’s TECHNOMELT® and LOCTITE® polyamides bond well to aluminium, steel, PCB’s, and solder as well as other metals found in todays electronics assemblies. Even when a part moulded in Henkel Polyamide material is chilled, a flexibility is retained at below zero degrees. It also holds excellent rigidity to 160°C or higher with selected variants. Electrical insulation is outstanding at typically 10,000 GΩ/cm and dielectric breakdown will not occur up to stresses of 20kv/mm.
